Conference Summary: To investigate the evolution of deep-water systems and their architectural changes related to variation in basin morphology and sediment supply. The pretext is given by the contrasting styles of the world-class (and still relatively unknown) deep-water outcrops of Chilean Patagonia. Exceptional exposures of a broad range of architecutral styles will foster interaction and discussion among stratigraphers, process sedimentologists, physical/numerical modelers, and marine geologists who are working on deep-water systems. Utilizing a combination of field trips and oral sessions, we will compare and contrast the forms, processes, and complexities of deep-water deposits around the world.

Conference Registration: The conference registration fee is $1,200 which does not include the hotel registration. Between the registration fee and the room rate, all meals will be included as well as field transportation and conference support. Transportation from the airport in Punta Arenas to the Hotel Rio Serrano will also be organized for the group as needed.

Conference Facilities and Hotel Accomodations: The conference will be held at the Hotel Rio Serrano (www.hotelrioserrano.cl), a new resort-style hotel in this remote region. See Housing on the registration page for details
